Towing dispatch
When a customer requests a tow, it appears for the staff at the towing location. Any mechanic there can pick it up and drive it - unlike bookings, tow drivers manage their own jobs.
The requests list
Open Towing from the menu to see requests, filtered by Active or All. Each card shows the customer, vehicle, pickup, status, and - once claimed - who accepted it. If there are pending requests, the home screen shows a banner.
TIP
The Towing menu entry only appears when your company has a towing location.
Signalling you're available
Customers only see your towing location while it has at least one available driver. Flip the Available for towing toggle - on the Towing page or next to the quick actions on the home screen - when you're free to take jobs, and off when you're not. A driver who is mid-job (accepted through towing) doesn't count as available even with the toggle on, so a one-driver location disappears from customers' lists until the job is delivered.
The towing rate
An admin or manager can set a tow fare per km on the towing location's form (see Locations). Customers see it on the location card and on the request form. It's informational only - the app never computes a trip total.
Working a job
Open a request to see its status, the customer and vehicle, the pickup and destination, and a map.
Accepting
While a request is Pending, it's open to any driver at the location. Tap Accept (and confirm) to claim it. Once you accept, the job is yours: only you can advance it and stream your position. A racing second "accept" can't steal it. (A manager or admin can still cancel the job if needed.)
Navigating
After you accept, two buttons hand the route off to your phone's navigation app:
- Navigate to pickup
- Navigate to destination
Advancing the job
Move the job forward one stage at a time with the action button: Start driving (en route) -> Mark arrived -> Start towing -> Mark delivered. The customer is notified at each step. Once delivered, you are asked once to rate the customer (see Rating the customer). If something goes wrong - a breakdown, say - you can cancel the job from any active stage.
Live position
While you're driving (from en route through towing), the app shares your live GPS position so the customer can watch the truck approach on their map. If location permission is off, a warning tells you your position isn't being shared, with a link to fix it.
WARNING
Live tracking needs location permission. Grant it on the Permissions page so customers can see the truck.
Chatting with the customer
Tap Open chat on the request to message the customer - text and photos, with read receipts, just like booking chat. See Messages.
