Employee Guide
The CarMaster employee app is the back office for a service business. You use it to set up your company and locations, build your team, take and manage bookings, dispatch tows, and read reports.
What you can see and do depends on your role.
The three roles
| Role | Who it's for | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanic (user) | Hands-on staff | See the day's bookings, work on them, chat with customers, handle towing jobs, view history. |
| Manager | Runs a location | Everything a mechanic can do, plus managing employees, workplaces, invitations, clients, reports, and viewing locations. Scoped to their own location. |
| Admin | Owns the company | Everything a manager can do, plus full control of locations and the company itself, across all locations. |
Throughout this guide, features are tagged where they're restricted:
- Manager+ - managers and admins.
- Admin only - admins only.
Anything untagged is available to everyone, including mechanics.
TIP
The menu only shows what your role can use, so you won't see options you can't open. Admins and managers can also temporarily view the app as a lower role to see exactly what their staff see.
