Messages

Every booking and every towing request has its own chat thread, so you can talk to the shop or the driver about that specific job. You can also message a workshop without booking anything, to ask a question first.

Your inbox

Open Messages from the menu. The inbox lists all your conversations - both bookings and tows - showing the vehicle, a preview of the last message, and an unread badge. Threads are sorted by most recent activity. The bell/messages badge in the menu sums up everything unread.

Asking a workshop without booking

On a workshop's page, next to the booking button, you'll find Ask a question. Use it when you want to know something before booking, for example whether they handle a particular repair.

You can pick the car you're asking about, but you don't have to: a general question doesn't need one.

You have one conversation per workshop, like WhatsApp: ask again months later and you continue in the same thread rather than starting another. It appears in your inbox alongside the rest, labelled Question instead of naming a car when you didn't pick one.

When the workshop says yes, the Book button at the top of the conversation takes you straight to that workshop's booking form, with the car already filled in if you picked one.

A conversation

Tap a conversation to open the full thread:

  • Messages appear newest at the bottom, like any messenger.
  • Scroll up to load older messages.
  • The thread opens scrolled to the latest message.

Sending a message

  • Type your message and tap the send button; Enter starts a new line.
  • Tap the attachment button to send a photo - it's uploaded and shown in the thread.

Delivery and read receipts

Each message you send shows its state:

  • Sending... - on its way.
  • ✓ - delivered.
  • ✓✓ - seen by the shop or driver.
  • If a message fails, tap it to retry.

New messages and read receipts appear live while you have the thread open.

Opening a chat from a job

You don't have to start in the inbox - every booking and towing request has an Open chat button on its detail page, and every booking in your lists has a quick chat button with an unread badge. They all lead to the same thread.

TIP

Tapping a chat notification takes you straight to the right conversation.
